Jackson is doing a little better each day. Yesterday he was fitted for a wheel chair with supports so he can now get out of his bed. The PT has been getting him out of bed also to sit with him and Jackson does have a little neck control, but he gets tired very quickly. Today he woke up and wanted to eat breakfast. He had a few bites of waffles and scrambled eggs. Then he needed a BIG diaper change. Just when I was getting ready to give him a bath, then PT came in and was ready to work with him. We postponed the bath for a bit until they were done. It wasn't long because Jack didn't want to work with them. So finally he was able to get his bath. I gave him a short break and then into the wheelchair. It is uncomfortable for him to be moved back and forth but he seems to do well when he is in it. The chair has a tray that he can use to eat or play on. We went for his first walk down the hall in over three weeks. We made our way back to the room so Jack could lay down. He had a short snooze then he was up and wanted to eat lunch. A few little bites of each thing on his plate is about all he can handle. Then we played with his rubber lizard and his GI Joe quad and shot rockets off the bed. Uncle Jimmy came in to see him for a few minutes, then it was time for another snooze because at this point Jackson couldn't quite keep his head up. Shortly after Kim came by to say hi, her son too comes to Children's hospital for PT following a head injury. Speech therapy came to see Jack at about 4:30 today and of course Jack didn't want to participate. I think he is very tired, sore, and overwhelmed by everyone. Today was the first of a lot of long days that he has ahead of him. Day by day he will regain his strength so hopefully he will be able to tolerate all these people trying to help him!

It was great to see you and Jack today! Don't worry he will get to like Randy and Leah, and get use to the routine, Luke cried for about the first week straight of PT, then decided they werent't so bad after all! I think he was also feeling better too! See you next week if you are up for it!
