Well, sorry for the delay on the up-to-date info. We had a few visitors this weekend, one being my two year old daughter Hayden who is incredibly busy. I just didn't have time to sit down and blog.

Jackson will be having another MRI tomorrow with contrast this time. They are taking many precautions with the type of contrast they use and have already put him on IV fluids to make sure he is well hydrated. The kidney doctor said that he should be fine as long as he doesn't have any other meds that could interact with the contrast or harm the kidneys within a week before or after having the MRI. They are looking at how much of the tumor is left, the tumors blood supply, and the ventricles in Jack's head. He will probably be having another surgery to resect the last of the tumor. Jackson's neurosurgeon thinks that it is possible if they can control the bleeding this time. That is the reason they could not completely remove it during the last surgery. This time around they will be sure that he has no problems or complications going into the surgery i.e. kidneys. They will be prepared for the blood loss this time. The surgeon will be consulting UCSF regarding the blood supply to the tumor and also to see if it is possible to embelize the tumors blood supply. If they need to embelize, then we will be making a trip to San Francisco for Jack's surgery. The oncologist feel it will really improve Jack's chances for a full recovery if 95% of the tumor is gone. As you can imagine, the idea of surgery again is terrifying for Warren and I, but we believe now that they know alot more about Jackson's case and will be more prepared for the problems at hand. I will update tomorrow evening after we have spoke with the surgeon and oncologist.
