Below is a message from Kristy Tognazzini. Kristy initiated and organized the BBQ fundraiser for Jackson over the past weekend. Without any prior experience at this kind of event, she pulled off an unbelievable fundraiser that is sure to help Jackson, Jenise and Warren in the coming months ahead.
Thank you so much, Kristy! What a wonderful, kind and generous friend you are to Jenise and Warren!
To all the volunteers who held things together...Thank you!
To all the amazingly patient people who came out and stood in line (sometimes for up to 1-hour)....Thank you!
To all the kind people of our community who made the BBQ such a succesful event....Thank you, not only from Warren, Jenise and Jackson, but from all of their family and friends...Thank you!

*****The BBQ this weekend was beyond a success. I think all of you would agree with me that the turn out we had was very unexpected and heartwarming. In case you happened to not be one of the "lucky" ones working a t the BBQ, you probably don't know how generous the people of the Central Coast were on Saturday. A few people brought get well gifts for Jackson and one little girl actually hand made a get well card for him. People were just walking up and donating money, whether it was $5 or $500, it was all greatly appreciated. In fact, there were so many people that came to the BBQ on Saturday, we actually ran out of food in the first hour! We estimate that we sold over 1,200 sandwiches.
Over the course of the day, a few wonderful people made several trips to Costco, Smart & Final and Albertsons to replenish our food supply. It was simply amazing. After the BBQ was over, we had Hayden (Jackson's little sister) pull the winning ticket out for the 50/50 drawing. Before I saw who won, I would like it to be known that I personally shook that container many, many times before I had her pull the ticket. The person's name that was on the winning ticket was "Jackson". After counting all of the money, the pot was at $1,541! All of that money went to Jackson's fund.
Now, for the part everyone is dying to know! After everything was paid for, we made $10,907.02 for Jackson and that is in addition to the 50/50 pot. In total, the net profit for Saturday was $12,448.02!
To all of the volunteers on Saturday, young and old, your help was truly appreciated and without you we wouldn't have been able to do as well as we did. It was a long, hard day but so worth every penny we brought in and I would like to personally thank you for all of your hard work.
Thank you and way to go everyone!
