Jackson Is Doing Well After Chemo

Hi Everyone,

Jackson is doing well this cycle after his chemotherapy. So far, he has not had any vomiting during his hospital stay, and since he has left the hospital, he has not had any nausea. I have been very good about waking him up at 3 or 4 am to give him his dose of anti nausea medicine so that he is covered round the clock. This cycle, so far, has been like night and day from the last cycle. Jackson will have his clinic visit this cycle on Tuesday instead of Monday because of MLK Jr. day. That means we have to stay here a day longer:(. It is supposed to rain, so that will make it hard for us to go and do anything. We will probably be stuck indoors. Jackson's clinic visit will consist of a dose of vincristine, blood work, and possibly a blood transfusion being that he needed one last cycle, about a week or so after chemo. If they do it Tuesday, then that will save us another trip to UCSF or possibly Santa Barbara.

I borrowed the Family House zoo pass yesterday and took Jackson to the zoo. It is great to go on a weekday, because there are very few people there. Jackson had a good time looking at all of the animals. His favorite part is the insect zoo. They have some pretty big tarantulas and some really weird bugs there. It is really creepy!

  1. Hi Jackson and Jenise,

I'm so glad to hear that this round of chemo was tolerated better than the first one. I hope Jackson's counts hold steady and that he continues to feel well. He is such a trooper! We'll see you guys in SF in February. Take care!
