Hello,

Jackson has been doing very well this time around. He had blood work done on Monday and his counts look great. No more GCSF injections until the next round which will start on February 8th. I can't believe it is almost half way through the chemo treatments already.

Jackson's appetite has been good. He can't tolerate a normal serving yet, but lots of small meals throughout the day seem to work well. He has strange cravings, like all he wants to drink right now is "pink milk" aka Strawberry Nesquik, and blueberry bagels with butter. Pancakes are high on the list also with certain types of soups, and also bean burritos. His appetite has been consistent throughout this cycle where as last cycle he had no appetite in the first couple of weeks and it slowly got larger as time went on. We are hoping he will gain a pound or two this cycle. He is at the low end of where they want him to be, a whopping 41 lbs!

Thanks to Jacks little sis Hayden, we spent about an hour in the ER last Friday night. That afternoon, Hayden socked Jackson in the eye while we were waiting to pick up Madison from school. A while later Jackson was crying and complaining of his eye hurting off and on. I kept checking for eyelashes in his eye because he has just about lost them all. Not finding anything, I let him sit with a cold washcloth over it which would help for a little while, but he would just start crying again. After a couple of hours of this, I called his oncologist to find out what to do. She said that it could wait until morning and that it wasn't a huge infection risk, but if I wanted to take him that would be fine also. Jackson was really upset and in alot of pain, so I told her that we would like to go. She called in to Marian and when we got there, he went right back for vitals, and was in a room within minutes. Just as we sat down in the room, the doctor came in. He examined Jacks eye and placed a type of dye in it. He used a black light and there was a scratch visible right across Jacks pupil and iris. They gave him some antibiotic eye drops to prevent infection and then we were on our way. The next day Jackson's eye felt better, no pain only some itchiness sometimes. Poor baby is such a trooper, he reminds me to give him his drops!
Thank you again little sister!
