Hi Everyone!
We are back up here at UCSF tonight to get Jackson a blood transfusion. He had his blood counts done on the 24th and he was within the limits of not needing a transfusion. His red counts were at 7.3, which they like to transfuse for anything 7 or below. He seemed to be doing fine, he was tired, but he would still get up and play for most of the day. Christmas seemed to be ok also, but he was moving a little slower. Today, he didn't really want to get out of bed, and when he did, he just moved to the couch. He got up and played a little during the middle of the day, but ended back up on the couch. We called his doctor and she said he probably should have a transfusion. We haven't yet got set up at Santa Barbara Cottage Hopsital yet, so we had to make the trip to SF. So here we are waiting for blood. They did another CBC when we got here and his red counts are down to 5.5! So instead of getting 2 ped units of blood, they are giving him 3-4 units and then most likely platelets also. We should be able to leave in the morning sometime.
Our Christmas was great! We even had a special "secret santa" visit. Thank you so much to who ever sent those gifts. We really enjoyed watching the kids open them and we were truly touched by someones kindness. Hope everyone else had a great Christmas also!
