Jackson had a good day today. He was smiling and laughing more than the last few days. He has gotten out of bed the last two days with the help of the physical therapist. He sat on my lap both times and that has been the only two times in the last six weeks that I have been able to hold and hug him! It was nice for the both of us. The PT also had some boots fitted for him so that his calves and tendons don't tighten too much. If they tighten up then it will be very painful for him to walk when it is time.
Jackson's official surgery date is a week from today on September 2nd. The radiologists will be doing the angiogram Friday, possibly Monday. They also want to do an MRI of Jack's brain and spine on Tuesday. I am praying that these procedures will be as early as possible because Jack's appetite is enormous and all he does most of the day is eat! His favorite-VANILLA ICE CREAM. I had to hike down to a little market to pick up a half gallon of it because it is like pulling teeth here to get any other ice cream than the pricey soft serve 5 floors down in the cafe. Fortunately they have a freezer on the floor for the parents to use. Warren and I have definitely been getting our exercise around here with all the stairs and walking the one mile hike to and from the family house that we are using. Warren sleeps there while I sleep here at the hospital with Jackson. I walk down there once a day to shower and get some fresh air.
We would also like to take a minute to thank everyone for their continued support and constant prayers that help us get by day by day. All of the cards and gifts for Jackson and our family have been wonderful. We are missing our friends, family, home town, and the normalcy that we once had and will have again at some point. We love you all!!!!
