There was a little bit of a set back today. Since Jackie was doing so well yesterday with the amount of urine he produced, the Doctors took him off of dialysis, however today he had no output of urine so he was put back onto dialysis. He is still stable and doing well. His brain shows activity and his responses to Warren and Jenise are very positive. He even nodded his head NO in response to Jenise asking him to squeeze her hand....stubborn, but cute as always, Jackie! The Doctors are positive about him getting his kidney function back, but for now he needs a little assistance through dialysis. He's off of his paralysis drugs and only in sedation to keep his blood pressure down and prevent him from injuring himself.
Today we had the Carwash and BBQ at Ferguson's and it was a GREAT success with over $5,000.00 donated!!!! This is a testimony to all the wonderful, kind hearted people that are pulling for Jackson throughout the Central Coast. We had people drive from as far as Atascadero to make their donations and had perfect strangers donate not only their money, but their time by staying and helping everyone out washing the line of cars waiting to come in.
There are no words possible that can express the gratitude that Warren, Jenise and the rest of their family and friends have for every single person who donated to make this day the success that it is. Of course, the work has just begun and is in no way close to being over. Jackson is in for a very long road ahead of him and so are his parents. Let's keep the donations coming and any thoughts or ideas on how to generate more donations for them.
Thank you again to everyone!!!!!!
