Sorry it has been so long since my last post. Finishing Jackson's last day of radiation was a huge relief. He is so glad to be done. We have been home now for over a week and I think that this is the best therapy he could have. He doesn't slow down much here and is back to his usual activities such as pounding on the play set with a hammer, antagonizing his sisters, and following Warren around during his handyman activities. He has a seemingly endless need to go out to different such as Home Depot, Walmart, Spencers, the park, and the pet store. He wanted to cram all of those excursions in just a day or two. I had to set some limits. He has missed out on so much the last four months.

Being home has been nice for the whole family. We are getting back into a normal routine, although I cannot seem to get caught up with the housework. Preparing meals is actually been fun since I haven't cooked in four months. Jackson is eating well in his home environment. His nausea is almost gone. Hayden still doesn't know where we actually live! She thinks we still live at family house. Madison has just finished soccer, just in time to start basketball. The kids are taking their own sweet time trying to interact well together.

Jackson had a follow up appointment on the 12th at UCSF. They removed his port needle and discontinued his IV fluids that we were giving him at night. His blood counts are good, so we have another short break until early December when we will go for the first of a long line of MRI's every three months. They will also do a spinal tap to check for cancer cells in his spine again. They don't expect to see anything, this is all just protocol. After that, he will get his first dose of chemo on December 14th.

I will try to keep a weekly update going until chemo begins, and then I will update more frequently. Thank you so much to everyone who supports us so much and for all the love and prayers we receive. Please continue to pray for Jackson, he still has a long road ahead.

  1. Prayers for Jackson, but also for you and Warren. You have had a very tough road to hoe, but you have done a wonderful job. You are heroes in my book! With prayers and more prayers,

  2. Hi Jackson and Family,

Sophia and I are happy to hear that Jackson is enjoying his time off at home! Sophia has 8 more radiation treatments before we get to go home. We wish Jackson continued strength on his journey and we're looking forward to keeping up with him through this website. Enjoy the holidays and we'll keep praying for all of you!
