What Jack Has Been Up To

Jackson has had alot of fun last couple of days! His therapists took him on an outing for therapy yesterday. He went to the Academy of Science Museum and had a blast. He saw sharks, reef fish, amazon fish, and local ocean fish. There were also lots of reptiles and amphibians and even an albino alligator. He was out of his wheelchair and taking off from exhibit to exhibit until we hit the touch pool and he spent a bit of time touching the starfish and sea urchins. He had a great time and also enjoyed the ride on the MUNI train to Golden Gate Park. This morning was fun because we went to the playroom and did shaving cream art. It was very messy, but he and the other children had a blast. There was shaving cream everywhere. I was bent over to wipe some off the floor and Jackson rubbed a bunch in my hair! The kids were doing hi fives and it was splattering on everything.

Jackson had his last dose of radiation to his brain and spine today. Tomorrow he will start the boost to the tumor bed which is 11 doses. He is realizing that the radiation is what is making him throw up everyday. We are hoping that he won't have as much nausea with the boost. It is the same dose as before, but they won't be radiating near his throat, stomach, and intestines. He is also done with acute rehab so his schedule is not as busy today. He will still have one appointment a day with a therapist but not four any more.
